Classic Christmas Movies

One of the great traditions during every Christmas season is watching the dozens of classic Christmas  movies that have filled our lives with cherished memories over the years.  Everyone has their list of favorites that we have to watch each and every year at Christmas time or we feel incomplete. We feel this way because we see ourselves in these movies and we share the joy, laughter even tears with each character on the screen.   We are reminded to cherish our family and friends and to remember the times we shared with those who have passed.



Each year as we put up all our Christmas decorations, wrap all our gifts and look forward to our family gatherings on Christmas day there are movies that enhance the holiday atmosphere and raises the overall Christmas spirit. Christmas movies have become such a integral part of Christmas it is difficult to imagine Christmas without them. Hollywood has made countless classic movies that can be watched over and over again without getting tired of them and they will continue to make new movies for Christmas that will spread good tidings for years to come.

While contemplating my list of favorite classic Christmas movies it became immediately evident that choosing a list of my top three favorite Christmas movies is far more difficult than I imagined.  There are just too many great Christmas movies and television shows that I found myself changing the order of my list over and over again until I just gave up and decided to list as many time tested and inspiring movies that I have found memories of as possible!

As times change traditions rooted by childhood traditions and fond memories are cemented into the fabric of our lives. As each Holiday Season approaches we are reminded of the classic Christmas movies that flood our thoughts with the cherished memories of our past. One of my favorite Christmas traditions each Christmas Eve is opening up one present, usually a new pair of pajamas, and watching Christmas Vacation. This is a tradition that all my brother and sisters have continued with their families just as I have done with my wife and my children. While your traditions may be different, I am sure that you and you family have at least one tradition that in one way or another involves a classic Christmas movie that everyone looks forward to each and every year.
